The SPOT Initiative launched in 2016 as a collaborative effort to support nursing home teams to develop effective quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) programs. Effective QAPI programs can prevent adverse events, promote safety and quality, and reduce risks to residents and caregivers. With funding from Civil Monetary Penalty (CMP) Funds, the SPOT team engaged 60 nursing homes in quality improvement work over the course of the program.
