  • Register Now for New Pay Equity Law Webinar
May 10, 2018

Join us on Thursday, May 31st at 10:00 am for this important one-hour webinar, Massachusetts’ New Pay Equity Law – Where to Begin, What to do Next, and Why it is Important to Include Your Legal Counsel!

The general purpose of the Massachusetts Pay Equity Act—scheduled to take effect in July 2018—is to close the gender gap and make it unlawful for employers to pay men and women different rates for "comparable work", a term that was not previously defined.

Dave Wilson, a founding partner of the firm Hirsch, Roberts & Weinstein and a Mass Senior Care Association Associate Member, will present a comprehensive overview of what is required under this law, including:

  • What do employers need to know?
  • What are the next steps for employers?
  • What is the “safe harbor” defense against claims if a self-assessment was completed within the three years prior to the legal action?
  • What must you include in “comparable wages”?
  • How to revise your employment applications and pre-employment inquiries to longer require or ask about salary history?
