The Berkshire County Regional Employment Board and Holyoke Community College have each been awarded $500,000 from the Senator Kenneth J. Donnelly Workforce Success Grants for Expanded Training Capacity & Employment Program Performance to provide training, placement, and retention services to unemployed and underemployed Massachusetts residents.
The Berkshire County Regional Employment Board will use its grant funds to assist with the training and placement of up to 190 CNAs and NAs in 20 Berkshire Healthcare Systems facilities. Holyoke Community College will partner with Baystate Health and CareOne to provide training and placement services to 180 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) and CNAs.
The Senator Donnelly Grant is administered by the Commonwealth Corporation through the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development. The funding for these grants is provided by the Workforce Competitiveness Trust Fund Appropriations and the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021.
