National Healthcare Decisions Month sheds light on the importance of education and empowerment for patients and medical professionals in advanced care planning. This celebration puts the spotlight on what advanced directives are, how to create them, and their significance.
The annual event is sponsored by The Conversation Project, a program of the National Institute for Healthcare Advancement and every year Honoring Choices Partners & Friends celebrate April 16 National Healthcare Decisions Day by providing easy-to-use programs and tools.
As an Alliance Partner with Honoring Choices Massachusetts, Massachusetts Senior Care encourages providers to engage with residents and families to focus on their care wishes and the process that they want their loved ones and caregivers to follow if they become seriously ill. Honoring Choices Massachusetts is a tremendous resource and providers can access free downloadable care planning information and Massachusetts tools to engage adults in planning discussions and providing care that honors their choices.
