  • Action Alert: Please Call the Governor’s Office to Request Adequate Funding to Implement Medicaid Nursing Facility Rate Items
December 12, 2024
action alert

Governor Maura Healey recently signed the Long Term Care Reform Law - Chapter 197 of the Acts of 2024. The law includes many critical resident care and workforce sections, including a requirement for MassHealth to update its Medicaid funding formula using more current costs for resident care and workforce wages. We need your immediate and ongoing help to urge Governor Healey to invest $280 million in her FY 2026 budget recommendation to ensure that Medicaid rates better cover the current cost of resident care and staff wages. We ask that you, your residents, staff and family members please contact Governor Healey, using these suggested talking points, to urge her to fund the law in her FY2026 budget recommendation that will be filed at the end of January.

Please call the Governor’s Office today at (617) 725-4005 to join this critical effort.
