The House of Representatives will begin debate on the FY2023 budget next week. Please ask your State Representative to co-sponsor and support Chairman Thomas Stanley's Nursing Facility Workforce Amendment #891. Amendment #891 would make wage investments funded through COVID-19 supplemental funds permanent for dedicated nursing facility workers by providing $120 million in pandemic wage investments which are set to expire on June 30th. This request is critical to Mass Senior Care’s advocacy efforts to secure $238 million in vital workforce funds over multiple appropriation bills including the FY2023 state budget, the FY2022 surplus budget, and the ARPA appropriation bill.
Thanks to member advocacy efforts, there are currently 24 Co-Sponsors to Amendment 891:
Representatives Bruce Ayers, John Barrett, Peter Capano, Tackey Chan, Patricia Duffy, Tricia Farley-Bouvier, Natalie Higgins, Russell Holmes, Mary Keefe, Michael Kushmerek, Paul Mark, Mathew Muratore, Brian Murray, Tram Nguyen, James O'Day, Steven Owens, Sarah Peake, Smitty Pignatelli, Angelo Puppolo, Lindsay Sabadosa, Danillo Sena, Thomas Stanley (Lead Sponsor), Timothy Whelan, Susannah Whipps, Susan Williams Gifford
