The American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) has officially opened the 2027 National Quality Award Program application cycle. While the Quality Awards Portal is not yet available, organizations that are considering applying for a 2027 Quality Award are encouraged to begin preparing by reviewing the program criteria and utilizing the resources available to support their application efforts. These resources are designed to help organizations begin the application process, understand award requirements, and prepare for the level of recognition they are seeking to achieve.
The following resources are now available for all award levels:
- Month-by-month roadmap and action plans
- Application criteria packet
- Level-specific criteria video series
- Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
- Updated Renewal Policy
- Survey Eligibility Tool (available July 15)
The 2027 National Quality Award Intent to Apply (ITA) process will open in August 2026. Mass Senior Care will notify facilities eligible to apply for the Bronze, Silver, or Gold Quality Award in late summer/early fall. Eligible facilities will also be asked to complete a brief survey to help assess interest and need for educational workshop(s) to support the application process.
