  • PBJ Transition to iQIES Tip Sheet
July 24, 2026
iqies

Effective August 17, 2026, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) will transition Payroll-Based Journal (PBJ) reporting to iQIES, its secure, cloud-based system for managing quality and compliance data. Beginning on that date, all PBJ staffing data must be submitted through iQIES. To support members through this transition, MSCA has developed a “How to Prepare for PBJ Moving to iQIES” Tip Sheet”, which outlines key steps facilities should take to ensure a smooth implementation. We encourage all members to begin planning for this change now, including reviewing system access requirements, preparing staff, and updating internal processes as needed. Taking proactive steps will help ensure uninterrupted PBJ reporting and compliance with CMS requirements.
