  • IMPORTANT ACTION ALERT!
February 15, 2024

As lawmakers begin to deliberate on an extremely tight FY2025 state budget, your continued advocacy for Massachusetts Senior Care Association’s FY2025 Budget Proposal is critical to securing the funding necessary to build upon the success of recent investments that have allowed us to increase access to quality resident care and to make modest gains in addressing our workforce crisis, including increasing wages, hiring additional direct care staff, and increasing our occupancy. To continue this progress, we are urging state lawmakers to support $128 million in additional funding (half of which is reimbursed by the federal government). This investment would allow us to continue to hire new staff and increase wages, cover inflation for basic resident care costs and fund the costs of caring for residents with increased acuity. Please click here to view the letter we sent to state representatives today.

We also encourage you to invite your local legislators for a facility tour to discuss the importance of nursing facility care. Your personal experience in caring for our residents is valued highly by our local legislators. A MSCA staff member would be pleased to participate in your grassroots activities, please email Caitlin Hughes if you would like our assistance.
