As demand for nursing facility services continues to grow, it is crucial that we have a sufficient number of staff to meet the needs of our residents. Massachusetts has over 2,500 work-authorized migrants living in the state’s emergency shelter system that are eager to start jobs and represent a vital pipeline of new employees for the long term care sector. We urge you to join us on Thursday, March 14th at 11:00am for an interactive webinar with state officials and nursing facility operators who are actively working with local shelters to employ new entrants. Employers will have the opportunity to ask questions with the goal of assisting members in hiring new entrants and reduce job vacancies across all departments.
Objectives:
- Understand processes, supports, and hiring practices for new entrants including migrants and refugees
- Consider how the needs of new entrants aligns with the staffing needs in nursing facilities
- Learn how to participate in the Work Ready Massachusetts program
Speakers:
- Ken Brown, Assistant Secretary of Employer Engagement and Employee Outcomes, Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development
- Provider Panel
- Tara Gregorio, President, MSCA
- Sue Misiorski, VP of Workforce Development, MSCA
