The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) recently updated several surveyor resources that can be found in the Survey Resources folder on the site. The changes made were technical and appear to be made to update any outdated information that is no longer applicable.
The changes include the following:
- On the Entrance Conference Worksheet, the need to submit the CMS-672 was removed related to CMS’ previous directive that they would stop using this form.
- On several Survey Pathways, the surveyors were asked to retrieve information from Section GG, instead of Section G, of the Minimum Data Set (MDS), related to MDS changes that occurred October 1, 2023.
- On CMS-802, CMS removed the request for information about “worsened pressure ulcers at any stage.” For the CMS-802, CMS requests facilities to provide all residents with pressure ulcers not present on admission.
Other updates were specific to surveyor processes, both during the offsite portion of the survey, and during an extended survey.
