  • Attention Employers with LPN Students Starting in January 2026!
October 24, 2025

Do you have an employee who’ve been accepted into the January 2026 class of Mount Wachusett Community College’s (MWCC) Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program? If so, your employee may be eligible to graduate debt-free and earn up to $20,000 while attending school!

Through the Massachusetts Career Ladder Program (CLP), a state and employer sponsored initiative implemented by the MA Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS) with support from partners including Mass Senior Care Association (MSCA), employers can create a pipeline of nurses by helping valued employees advance their career. This unique opportunity allows employees to train as LPNs while working part-time and receiving a stipend to help sustain their cost of living during school.

Program Benefits for Employees:

  • $440/week (pre-tax) in advanced wages while attending school, up to $20,000
  • Tuition coverage for any costs not covered by public funds
  • Reimbursement for books, exam fees, and other out-of-pocket costs
  • 1:1 coaching and support to help balance school, work, and life
  • Emergency cash assistance, if needed

With this support, participants could complete their LPN education at no cost, while earning income during their training. MWCC offers the only community college LPN program in Massachusetts that starts in January, giving your employees the chance to begin sooner and your facility the opportunity to plan ahead for future staffing needs.
