  • Legislature Restores an Additional $25 Million in Nursing Facility Funding for Rate Year 2026
October 24, 2025

As a result of Mass Senior Care’s continued advocacy to ensure that state funding adequately supports the actual cost of quality resident care, we are pleased to report that the House and Senate have voted to restore $25 million in quality nursing home funding. The Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS) earlier this month adopted the Rate Year 2026 (RY26) Medicaid nursing facility regulation providing $102 million for nursing facility care. Mass Senior Care will be working with EOHHS to implement the $25 million in restored budget funding to increase RY26 nursing facility investment to a total of $127 million to support quality care.
