On Thursday, August 7, MSCA Member facility, Alliance Health at Rosewood, hosted a press conference by Massachusetts Congressman Seth Moulton to highlight the Medicaid impact of the new federal “One Big Beautiful Bill Act.” The new law includes more than $900 million in federal Medicaid funding cuts over the next decade. The Congressman emphasized the importance of Medicaid in funding nursing facility care, noting that Medicaid is the primary payer of services. He also referenced the future change in Medicaid nursing facility retroactive eligibility coverage that will reduce coverage from 90 days to 60 days. Congressman Moulton highlighted the importance of explaining the impact of the bill on families that will be affected by the provisions of the new law.
