The DPH and Mass Senior Care continue to encourage nursing facilities to vaccinate residents and staff with the most up to date COVID-19 vaccine. Per the CDC people aged 65 years and older who received 1 dose of any updated 2023-2024 COVID-19 vaccine should receive 1 additional dose of an updated COVID-19 vaccine at least 4 months after the previous updated dose.
Per NHSN data for week ending April 7, 2024, 50% of residents and 24.1% of staff in Massachusetts nursing homes are UTD with the COVID-19 vaccine.
