  • REMINDER: Authorization to allow nursing practice by Graduate Nurses and Nursing Students expires March 31, 2024
January 4, 2024

Authorization to continue to allow nursing practice by graduate nurses and students in their last semester of nursing education programs will expire on March 31, 2024. As a reminder, nursing facilities that are employing graduate nurses may no longer allow them to work as nurses if they have not passed their nursing boards and become registered nurses or licensed practical nurses by March 31, 2024. Nursing facilities should encourage all graduate nurses to schedule and take the NCLEX by March 31. In addition, effective April 1, 2024, individuals who are nursing students attending the last semester of a nursing education program may no longer work as nurses.
