Discussion will include the new Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (PWFA) and existing MA labor laws protecting pregnant employees, as well as other applications of accommodations.

Fall is Here: Strategies to Mitigate Respiratory Infections

Program Description
Adult residents of long-term care facilities are at particular risk for severe respiratory illnesses caused by RSV, influenza and SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes Covid-19. The residents of long-term care facilities are the ones most at risk for severe disease from these respiratory infections and the ones that will be the most affected by new vaccine availability. This webinar will inform nursing facilities of all changes to vaccine and treatments for the Fall. As part of this webinar, infection control measures to mitigate the transmission of these viruses within long-term care facilities will also be reviewed.

Annual Life Safety Code Workshop

Program Description:
Join Mass Senior Care in our annual life safety workshop. This year’s annual program will focus on expectations regarding the inspection, testing and maintenance of required systems such as sprinklers, fire panels, fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, doors, etc. The program will include discussion on the concerns and challenges related to lithium-ion batteries used in nursing facility equipment and devices and best practices for use, storage, and maintenance. In addition, the Department of Public Health will review the top life safety code deficiencies and CMS’ current focus.
