State investments are critical to ensuring nursing facilities have the resources needed to pay nursing facility staff increased wages and maintain ongoing infection prevention efforts that have resulted in a dramatic decrease in the number of COVID related infections and deaths in nursing facilities.

Thanks to your recent advocacy, over 900 emails were sent to State Representatives advocating for nursing facility care! Mass Senior Care is pleased to report that the House Ways and Means Committee has recommended appropriating funding to set Medicaid nursing facility rates using calendar year 2019 costs. This is an important step to better recognize current costs of care delivery of older adults and individuals with disabilities. The budget now moves to the Senate for their consideration.
