Job Description
Care for and assist residents in a maximum manner conducive to their safety and comfort and within limits defined by delegated tasks.
Assist, supervise and/or provide for activities of resident's daily living, including but not limited to: assisting with meals, feeding residents, providing for residents' personal hygiene; assisting with and/or giving complete or partial tub and shower baths, back rubs, shampoos, and shaves; making beds; providing oral hygiene, including care of dentures; providing care of hair and providing morning and evening care.
Possess and demonstrate ability to respond to residents' requests and calls, as well as changes in residents' conditions, including but not limited to emergencies and adverse reaction to treatment.
Adhere to instruction issued by the Clinical Head Nurse/ Shift Supervisor and perform duties in accordance with established nursing home routines, methods, and techniques, and in compliance with the nursing home's recognized policies, procedures, standards, and practices and within the State regulatory acts.
Qualifications
EDUCATION: Must be certified by Department of Public Health as a Certified Nurse's Aide. Ability to speak, read and write English. Ability to follow written and oral directions.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Must participate annually in 12 hours of in-service training to maintain certification.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Ambulate, position, transfer, and turn residents at a minimum of fifty (50) pounds, frequently. Turn, crouch, kneel, stoop, bend below waist, and reach above shoulder height, frequently. Climb stairs, frequently. Walk, sit and stand frequently. Lift and/or carry objects at a minimum of fifty (50) pounds, frequently. Use sight and auditory senses. Possess good finger and hand dexterity.
