As previously reported, Governor Healey on March 29, 2023 signed an authorization to continue to allow nursing practice by graduates and students in their last semester of nursing education programs in accordance with guidance from the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing (BORN) until March 31, 2024 per the Guidance for Nursing Practice by Graduates and Students in Their Last Semester of Nursing Education Programs — Authorization Extended. As a reminder, individuals who are graduates must have graduated from a BORN approved registered nursing or practical nursing program and individuals who are nursing students attending the last semester must be students of a BORN approved registered nursing or practical nursing program.
