  • State Senator Cyr Files Budget Amendment to Ensure Quality Nursing Facility Care
May 10, 2024

The full Senate will begin active debate on the FY 2025 state budget during the week of May 20th. Mass Senior Care is continuing its advocacy efforts to increase nursing facility spending by $128 million in FY 2025 in order to fund ongoing wage investments for our dedicated staff and hire additional direct care. At this point, the House of Representatives has recommended and approved an initial investment of $50 million, State Senator Julian Cyr has filed a budget amendment to the Senate Ways Means Committee’s FY 2025 recommendation. During the upcoming Senate debate, we will need the full and active participation of the entire membership in our grassroots advocacy in urging your State Senator to support Senator Cyr’s nursing home care budget amendment.
