The SPOT Initiative launched in 2016 as a collaborative effort to support nursing home teams to develop effective quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) programs. Effective QAPI programs can prevent adverse events, promote safety and quality, and reduce risks to residents and caregivers. With funding from Civil Monetary Penalty (CMP) Funds, the SPOT team engaged 60 nursing homes in quality improvement work over the course of the program. The Massachusetts Department of Public Health is hosting two town hall presentations for our long term care stakeholders to learn more about the Supportive Planning and Operations Team (SPOT) Initiative. Meetings will be held on the following dates and locations:
Monday, December 10, 2018, 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Department of Public Health
Henry I. Bowditch Public Health Council Room - 2nd Floor
250 Washington Street, Boston, MA
Tuesday, December 11, 2018, 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Hilton Garden Inn Springfield
800 Hall Of Fame Avenue, Springfield, MA
The same presentation will be offered on both dates, and interested stakeholders are invited to attend the presentation most convenient for them. During the town hall, the SPOT team will share information on the current year's activities and will present the overall findings from all three years of the Initiative. Both presentations will also feature a SPOT nursing home partner team, who will share their experience and the quality improvement work they have engaged in as part of their participation in the program. Attendees will have ample time to ask questions and to network with the SPOT Team, SPOT nursing home partners, and other long term care stakeholders. Please RSVP to Leah Sekundayo at leah.sekundayo@state.ma.us by Friday, December 7, 2018. While it is highly recommended that you RSVP, you may attend the event without providing advance notice.
