The shift in policy by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) from “volume to value” has led in recent years to a proliferation of Value-Based Payment (VBP) programs, both at the federal and state level. This webinar will discuss the basic framework of a VBP program, the performance measurement used, and the methods for determining incentive payments. We will review the current federal VBP programs, including the recent COVID-19 VBP program, and discuss how CMS has been using these incentive programs to address issues in post-acute care.
