  • Op-Ed: Proper Support Can Help Ensure Well-Being Of Nursing Home Residents, Families, Caregivers, Parkinson, Gregorio Say
October 8, 2020

In an October 4th op-ed for Inside Sources, Tara Gregorio, President of the Massachusetts Senior Care Association and Mark Parkinson, President & CEO of the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living write "For long-term care professionals, COVID-19 has been especially challenging." They add, "As we look to the future, we must apply the hard lessons of the past several months for the betterment of our residents, our staff and our sector. Those lessons have positioned us today to be one of the safest sectors in all of health care." They say, "From Beacon Hill to Capitol Hill, bipartisan cooperation will propel this aspect of our health care system forward – one that any one of us might look to in our hour of need – in ways that will better protect, care for, and enhance, the lives of residents and protect our staff. Our world may never be the same, but with proper support we can ensure the safety, care and well-being of our nursing home residents, their families and caregivers."
