COVID-19 has exacerbated the mental health needs of frontline healthcare workers who have experienced the pandemic as both a personal crisis and a workplace crisis, having been deemed essential workers. MASStrong will provide support to the frontline healthcare workforce, prioritizing their resilience and mental health, with a focus on low wage frontline workers such as nursing home workers, home health aides, and long-term care aides. Supporting these important and vulnerable healthcare workers is the core mission of the MASStrong Program.
In partnership, GPS Group Peer Support (GPS) and the Betsy Lehman Center for Patient Safety (BLC) are leading the MASStrong program to bring a group model of peer support to frontline workers across the Commonwealth.
Enrollment for the MASStrong Program- the virtual group support for frontline workers is now open. These online group support sessions will be starting in November. Participants can earn up to $180 in gift cards for their participation. The group sessions will be available in English, Spanish and Haitian Creole, and will occur at different times during the week and weekends.
Mass Senior Care strongly encourages and recommends administrators share this information on virtual group support sessions with their nurse aide staff.
