  • MassHealth Issues Annual Accounting for Personal Needs Allowances (PNA) Filing Form: Due Date is December 1, 2025
November 6, 2025

MassHealth requires that nursing facilities and chronic disease and rehabilitation inpatient hospitals account for the balances of personal needs allowance (PNA) account funds. MassHealth has issued Long Term Care Bulletin 118 for the annual accounting of balances of personal needs allowances (PNA) for residents in LTC facilities. To facilitate fulfillment of the annual PNA accounting, the required form (PNA-1) will now be available to providers through an online portal. The PNA-1 form requests information about PNA funds managed by the provider as of August 31, 2025. Providers must submit the PNA-1 form and all required supporting documentation through the portal by December 1, 2025. MassHealth has created a document with instructions to assist facilities in completing the PNA webform.

Please contact support@masshealthltss.com if you have questions about the information in this bulletin.
