  • Important Action Alert: Please Ask Your Lawmakers to Support Continued Vital Workforce Investments in FY2025
March 21, 2024

Please join us again this week in asking your State Representative and Senator to support Mass Senior Care’s FY2025 Nursing Facility Budget Proposal, which would fund vital workforce investments of $128 million in FY2025. The Massachusetts Center for Health Information and Analysis (CHIA) released last week a report documenting the challenging financial situation nursing facilities are experiencing, with the typical nursing facility having a negative operating margin of 3% in 2022.

Continued state investment is necessary to increase access to quality resident care and address our workforce shortage. This new funding will specifically allow facilities to continue to increase wages in FY2025 for our deserving direct care staff, hire 1,000 new staff to further alleviate staffing shortages and fund care for our more medically complex patients.

Join Mass Senior Care in advocating for these vital investments in the state FY2025 budget by sending an email to your state lawmakers today.
