  • House Ways and Means Committee Issues FY 2024 Budget Recommendation: Recommends $112M Over Current NF Rates
April 14, 2023

The House Ways and Means (HWM) Committee this week released its FY 2024 budget recommendation totaling $56.2 billion.  We are pleased to report that the Committee’s recommendation includes MSCA’s funding request proposing a $112 million increase over current reimbursement rates. The current 2023 rate includes the new $165 million appropriated in the Economic Development Law for the base rate and for expansion of the $50 day per member add on for Medicaid Substance Use Disorder (SUD) program.  Mass Senior Care extends its strong appreciation to Speaker Mariano, Chairman Michlewitz and the entire House of Representatives for continuing to prioritize the safety and well-being of nursing facility residents and their caregivers. The Committee’s FY 2024 budget recommendation will be debated by the full House of Representatives during the week of April 24th.
