  • FY 2025 Budget Conference Committee Appointed
June 6, 2024

Legislative leadership has appointed the 6-member FY2025 Budget Conference members to reconcile differences between the branches’ separate recommendations.

The Committee members are:

  • Senate Members – Chairman Aaron Michlewitz, Ann-Margaret Ferrante, Todd Smola; and
  • House Members – Chairman Michael Rodrigues, Cindy Friedman, Patrick O'Connor

The Committee’s deliberations will include reconciling a recommendation for additional funding of $50 million for nursing facility care, as well as a new higher education persistence and basic needs program to help support low-income students of state universities and community colleges who face obstacles in completing their degrees.

Mass Senior Care will continue its advocacy efforts to increase nursing facility spending in FY 2025 in order to increase wages for our dedicated staff, hire additional direct care workers to further alleviate staffing shortages and funding to care for our more medically complex patients.

The Conference Committee is meeting and are hoping to conclude their deliberations prior to the start of the FY 2025 fiscal year beginning on July 1, 2024.
