On April 22, 2024, the final rule for Minimum Staffing Standards for Long-Term Care Facilities was released. This rule included significant updates to the Facility Assessment requirement. In response to these changes, AHCA has prepared an Action Brief to help nursing facilities begin to navigate the new requirements. This brief is now available for download on ahcancalED. You must be an AHCA member and login to access the document.

The Action Brief provides a checklist style outline for preparing for the updated facility assessment using the data-driven, evidence-based methods described in the rule. AHCA will revise its existing facility assessment toolkit in the coming weeks as the Interpretive Guidance associated with this rule is released by CMS.
