Massachusetts Congressman Richard Neal earlier this week joined nursing facility residents at Life Care Center of Wilbraham, a MSCA member facility, to mark the occasion of the 60th anniversary of Medicare and Medicaid. At the meeting, Congressman Neal called for a reversal of the cuts to the Medicaid program that were recently signed into federal law as part of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. The new law includes more than $900 million in federal Medicaid funding cuts over the next decade. The Healey Administration has estimated that the law, once fully implemented, could result in over 300,000 Massachusetts residents losing health insurance coverage and up to $3.5B of lost federal resources annually to support health care in the Commonwealth.
