On November 20, 2023, the Massachusetts Coalition for Health Equity held a virtual press conference to push health systems to revisit masking policies. The Coalition has asked DPH to recommend universal masking in all healthcare facilities, provide free access to COVID-19 tests, communicate about the risk of long COVID-19 and issue formal guidance to urge clinicians to wear masks at the requests of patients, especially those with disabilities.
The Massachusetts Coalition for Health Equity was founded during the pandemic to protect people especially vulnerable to COVID-19.
