Action Alert

Background:

All Medicaid providers are at imminent risk for rate cuts and service reductions due to the combination of $1.3 billion in Federal funding cuts and a current $1.4 billion Medicaid structural deficit driven by higher-than-projected increases in medical care costs and enrollment. The Commonwealth is currently exploring all options to manage the State budget and as the Governor actively grapples with balancing this year’s budget and is drafting her FY2027 budget recommendation, we need you to please contact Governor Maura Healey in support of quality resident care and our workforce. It is critical that she loudly hears directly from the more 100,000 individuals who live, work, and depend on quality nursing facility care.

Action:

Beginning today through the release of Governor Healey’s FY 2027 budget recommendation on January 21st, we need every administrator, staff member, resident, and family member to continuously contact the Governor to urge her support for vital investments in nursing home care in order to meet the care needs of residents and provide wage increases for our deserving staff. After calling, please ask your colleagues, staff, residents, and families to do the same – volume absolutely matters!

Call the Governor's Office at 617-725-4005

Suggested Call Script

Hello, my name is ________ and I live in [City/Town]. I am calling to urge Governor Healey to protect nursing home residents and their caregivers by increasing Medicaid funding. These investments are essential to ensuring quality care and supporting dedicated frontline workers. Thank you.
