State budget deliberations are intensifying, and Mass Senior Care is encouraging members to contact their State Representatives and State Senators to urge them to make nursing facility care a top priority in FY 2021. Lawmakers are currently meeting with House Ways and Means Chairman Aaron Michlewitz and Senate Ways and Means Chairman Michael Rodrigues to discuss and submit their FY 2021 budget priorities.
We urge you to immediately contact your local State Representatives and Senators to ask that funding for quality nursing home care be included in their FY 2021 budget priority letter to the Chairs of Ways and Means. Our goal is to contact every member of the House of Representatives and Senate by next week. Enclosed, please see Mass Senior Care’s “Fix It” budget proposal in order to modernize MassHealth’s broken reimbursement system so that it reflects the true cost of caring for our most vulnerable residents. Please click here to find your legislators and their contact information. Thank you for your support and please keep Mass Senior Care staff updated on your progress.
