Essential Job Functions
Ability to assess the healthcare needs of the patient/resident, make a nursing diagnosis, transition this through collaboration with the nursing team, into an interdisciplinary plan of care.
Is able to communicate this plan to all care providers in a way that ensures continuity of care for the patient/resident.
Demonstrates the ability to establish and maintain functional communications with staff, other disciplines, families, medical staff and community
Demonstrates a broad scope of knowledge commiserate with her/his experience to be able to address the needs of the medically complex as well as the mentally compromised patients/residents.
Demonstrates the knowledge to assess the effect of medications and treatments and monitor these effects to provide appropriate feedback to interdisciplinary team and medical managers to continuously provide the patient/resident with the treatment appropriate to their individual needs.
Demonstrates the ability to lead and direct the nursing staff in the safe, effective delivery of care by providing a structured environment for staff and patients/residents that promotes teamwork and resident safety.
Demonstrates the proficiency with computerized documentation.
Demonstrates responsibility for one's own practice, utilizing educational opportunities to expand or refresh skills and/or knowledge and then demonstrates the ability to apply knowledge and share with others.
Demonstrates the ability to provide education to patients/residents regarding their healthcare issues and care plan strategies. Provides ongoing education regarding nursing practices to other members of the healthcare team under his/her supervision
Demonstrates the knowledge and ability to apply knowledge regarding infection control, fire and disaster policies as well as other facility and/or state and federal policies and practices that provides a safe environment for residents, community and staff.
Complies with legal requirements , standards, policies and procedures, including, but not limited to those within the Compliance Process, Code of Conduct and HIPPA.
Qualifications:
Current, unencumbered, license as a RN in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
Proficiency in basic computer skills
Strong attention to detail
