  • Massachusetts Electronic Death Registration System (MAVRIC) Launch Postponed
September 18, 2024

The Massachusetts electronic death registration system (MAVRIC) has been postponed until November 18th.

The Registry of Vital Records and Statistics will continue to provide the following:

  • MAVRIC training: All ongoing MAVRIC training sessions, enrollment activities, and assistance will continue for all groups of data partners who handle death registrations.
  • Extended Hours Help Desk: Robust go-live support will be in place to assist data partners with the transition to MAVRIC. This support will include extended daily office hours, and a dedicated MAVRIC help email address and phone number.

Important: All completed death records will be migrated to MAVRIC on December 15th and will be the last day to complete a record in the old legacy system, VIP. VIP for deaths will be turned off at 12am on December 16th and any unfinished records will not be available for modification and will need to be re-entered into the new system.
