Mass Senior Care Association is collaborating with the Executive Office of Health and Human Services to host a Listening Session Thursday April 16th from 2-3 pm via Zoom for nursing facilities considering standing up their own nurse aide training program. This listening session is a part of the Direct Care Worker Career Pathway Initiative (CPI), a statewide effort to strengthen the direct care workforce by improving training, reducing barriers to entry, and creating clearer career pathways for Certified Nurse Aides (CNAs) and Home Health Aides (HHAs).
As the initiative moves into implementation, your input is important—especially if your organization is interested in becoming a DPH-approved training provider. DPH has created a new on line training program that will be available this spring. This new training will be available at no cost to approved nurse aide training programs at least for the next 3 years. Hosting your own nurse aide training program is an excellent way to grow your own pipeline of qualified and compassionate caregivers.
What to Expect
During the session, the team will:
- Facilitate targeted discussion on CPI implementation
- Gather feedback on communications and supporting materials
- Explore how to best support those organizations who are interested in becoming DPH training providers
