Seminar Description:
The Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program serves as an important resource in promoting and the rights, health, safety, and well-being of nursing home residents. This educational workshop will provide participants with a comprehensive overview of the Ombudsman Program, including its legal authority, complaint resolution process, current state trends, and practical strategies for preventing and addressing resident and family concerns.

Participants will gain valuable insights into how Ombudsman representatives advocate for residents while partnering with providers to promote quality care, person-centered practices, and effective conflict resolution.

Program Objectives:
At the conclusion of this workshop, participants will be able to:

•Explain the purpose and duties of the Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program.
•Identify key federal laws and regulations governing Ombudsman activities and resident rights.
•Understand current state complaint data and emerging trends impacting nursing homes.
•Recognize common causes of resident and family grievances.

The Massachusetts Senior Care Association has qualified for “deemed status #NH-09015-007” from the Board of Registration of Nursing Home Administrators for Administrators. This program also meets continuing education requirements for Nurses in Massachusetts. All paid attendees will receive a certificate of attendance. 

Cancellation Policy
Mass Senior Care must be notified in writing no later than 48 hours prior to the start of the seminar for a refund, minus a $25 processing fee, which will be refunded in the manner in which the payment was made. “No Show” attendees will be billed at the full registration fee.
