Informational Webinar - Emergency Preparedness in Nursing Facilities

Mass Senior Care, the Department of Public Health, the Executive Office of Aging & Independence, and the Betsy Lehman Center for Patient Safety is hosting a critical and timely webinar on Tuesday, February 10, from 12:00–1:15 p.m., focused on emergency preparedness in nursing facilities. We know that electrical outages, fires, extreme weather, and other emergencies can have serious and sometimes devastating impact on nursing facility residents, and staff. In addition, we are seeing an increased number of non-compliance deficiencies related to emergency preparedness.

The webinar will focus on a DPH overview of the four core components of an emergency preparedness plan, a presentation on sheltering place, and a provider panel highlighting practical strategies, lessons learned, and available resources related to sheltering in place and emergency evacuation. Participants will also have the opportunity to provide input on future safety and emergency preparedness learning initiatives.

This session is intended for administrators, director of nurses, facilities management, and regional operations staff.
