WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
Massachusetts Senior Care Association, in partnership with several state affiliates, presents a GOLD Quality Award virtual workshop series to help you better understand the Gold Award application criteria, scoring, and strategies for a successful 2025 application submission.

Gold Quality Award recipients represent an elite group who meet all of the demands of the Baldrige Criteria. To receive the Gold award, you must demonstrate the achievement of high levels of performance over time in the areas of leadership, strategic planning, customer and workforce, operations and knowledge management. This workshop will help prepare you to meet this distinction.

ABOUT THE AWARD
The final step in the AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program is the Gold – Excellence in Quality Award. Recipients of the Gold Award are considered the best of the best in the profession. At the Gold Award level, applicants must show superior performance in areas of the criteria including leadership, strategic planning, and customer and staff satisfaction. By completing the Gold level criteria, organizations take their quality journey to a higher level through the valuable feedback received in the application process and thereby reaching organizational goals. Gold applicants address the Baldrige Excellence Framework in its entirety.

SUGGESTED PARTICIPANTS
Suggested participants for this workshop are administrators or executive directors and directors of nursing, along with other leadership team members - including owners. A team approach is the most effective method to develop your application in a manner that makes it your “management document” and not just an award application.

OBJECTIVES

  • Understand the Gold technical requirements and criteria.
  • Develop a basic understanding of the scoring guidelines.
  • Sharpen the skills for describing processes and how these approaches can serve as a management document, not just an application.
  • Learn skills for effectively presenting results.
  • Describe systematic evaluation and improvement.
  • Draft a plan for writing and reviewing the first draft of your application.
  • Take advantage of the opportunity to receive help with your specific application questions.
