Statement From Tara Gregorio, President of the Massachusetts Senior Care Association, Regarding the Baker Administration's Additional Funding Package for Nursing Homes

We are grateful to Governor Baker and his Administration for making emergency funds available to help long-term care facilities protect our residents and staff from the unprecedented dangers of COVID-19. The Massachusetts Senior Care Association, the COVID-19 Policy Alliance, led by MIT faculty, and Hebrew SeniorLife have formed a COVID-19 Long Term Care Command Center to help support nursing facilities with infection control, hiring of frontline staff, procurement and distribution of PPE, and testing of all residents and staff. Nursing facilities will use this funding to acquire PPE, implement infection control, and, most importantly, to give our dedicated staff across Massachusetts the heroes pay increases that they need and deserve. With the ongoing partnership of Governor Baker and the Administration, we are committed to fortifying our facilities as best as possible to ensure the safety of our residents and the brave frontline workers who care for them.
