Massachusetts Congressman Stephen Lynch has been selected to serve on the new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) Subcommittee on Oversight within the House Oversight and Accountability Committee. The Congressional subcommittee will be working in conjunction with the White House DOGE commission that is set to be run by Elon Musk in an effort to trim government spending. Congressman Lynch in a social media post about his appointment to the DOGE subcommittee stated: “As a member of the DOGE Subcommittee, I am dedicated to working with my Democratic colleagues to defend our hardworking federal workers from the threats of mass layoffs proposed by Vivek Ramaswamy, Elon Musk, and the Trump Administration. From the doctors, nurses, and staff at our VA hospitals, to federal law enforcement personnel who protect our borders, to the postal workers who deliver the mail, our federal workforce should be treated with respect for the important work that they do.”
