PLEASE ASK GOVERNOR BAKER TO SIGN INTO LAW MEDICAID LINE ITEM 4000-0641, WHICH WOULD PROVIDE CRITICALLY NEEDED FUNDING FOR QUALITY NURSING HOME CARE

Governor Baker's telephone number is 617-725-4005.

Background:

Governor Charlie Baker is currently reviewing the Legislature's FY 2019 Budget, which includes $12.8 million in new spending for nursing home care. The Governor has until Saturday, July 28th to either sign, veto or return with amendment portions of the budget.

Action:

Please call Governor Charlie Baker's office TODAY to ask him to sign into law Medicaid line item 4000-0641 which would provide critically needed funding for nursing home care. Governor Baker's telephone number is 617-725-4005.

Mass Senior Care will be actively tracking our advocacy efforts. Once you have made the calls, please e-mail Jennifer Chen or return the participation form to Mass Senior Care via fax at 617-558-3546.

Talking Points:

To assist you in calling Governor Baker, below is a sample script. You most likely will speak to an aide, who will pass you message along to the Governor and his senior staff.

"Hello. My name is __________ and I am calling from (NAME OF NURSING FACILITY and TOWN/CITY) to ask the Governor Baker to please sign into law Medicaid line item 4000-0641, which would provide critically needed investment for quality nursing home care. Thank you!"

THANK YOU FOR YOUR ADVOCACY!
