  • A Critical Moment for Quality Nursing Facility Care: Your Voice Matters
January 9, 2025
action alert

We need YOU to make a difference! Join us in taking vital action in our grassroots effort for quality nursing facility care. We need your help to thank Governor Healey for championing the long term care reform law and to now urge her to include in the FY 2026 budget the $280 million necessary to implement the workforce and resident care provisions contained in the law. This funding is essential to ensuring access to quality resident care and supporting our dedicated workers.

Why is this funding so important? Quality care for nursing facility residents relies on adequate funding for both workforce training and improvements in the care our residents receive. The work done by our caregivers is invaluable, and they deserve the resources and support to continue providing the best possible care.

We are asking every MSCA member – including residents, their families, staff, and vendors – to make their voices heard by Governor Healey. It’s simple: call the Governor’s Office at 617-725-4005 and urge her to include $280 million for nursing home care in the FY 2026 budget. The call will take just a few minutes, and we’ve made it easy with talking points to guide you.

Now is the time to act. Let us make sure we do everything we can to ensure that this critical funding is included in the Governor’s FY 2026 budget. Together, we can make a lasting difference for our residents, staff, and communities. Thank you for your continued commitment to improving care for those who need it most!
