It is hard to imagine long term care staff having the time or energy to do much of anything beyond their workday after dealing with the extraordinary demands of caring for residents during the COVID-19 pandemic. But more than 75 individuals submitted applications for the 2021 Mass Senior Care Foundation Scholarship program, a testament to the commitment and dedication of our caregiving staff. Building on its 35-year legacy of assisting long term care staff in furthering their education, the Massachusetts Senior Care Foundation is proud to announce its 2020 Foundation Scholars. This year's class of 29 exceptional awardees include Certified Nursing Assistants, nurses, business office staff, therapy and other facility staff who will use their scholarships to further their professional development and leadership in the long term care profession. The 2020 Foundation Scholars represent a broad cross-section of staff and facilities across Massachusetts among the more than75 applicants for this year's program.
While we were not able to celebrate the accomplishments of the Foundation in our usual fashion this year, we hope you will continue to support our mission to promote innovative tools, services, programs and research related to clinical and workforce quality across the continuum of care for older adults and people with disabilities. We are grateful for the generosity of our past donors, whose contributions have helped more than 1,600 individuals achieve their professional and personal goals, while contributing to a stable and committed long term care workforce.
