January 23, 2020

Mass Senior Care’s State House Advocacy Kick-Off Event has been rescheduled to January 28th at 12:30pm to coincide with the recently announced Joint Committee on Elder Affairs public hearing on the Nursing Home Funding Ballot Initiative (House Bill 4304). The public hearing begins at 1:00 pm in Hearing Room B-1. Please plan to meet Mass Senior Care staff at 12:30pm in front of Hearing Room B-1 to pick up materials for your meetings with legislators and a campaign tee-shirt.

Mass Senior Care Association is urging the Legislature to reject Governor Baker’s recommendation to cut $30 million in nursing facility funding and to instead update and modernize the MassHealth funding formula in order to ensure quality resident care and staff investments.  Our goal is to have each legislator’s office visited next week.

We need each facility and associate member to:

  1. JOIN US at the State House, Hearing Room B-1 on January 28th at 12:30 p.m.

Please fill out this participation form to help us plan and organize, or RSVP to Jennifer Chen.

  1. VISIT Your State Representative and State Senator to urge them to make funding for nursing home care a priority
  1. ATTEND/PARTICIPATE in the Elder Affairs Hearing

Please contact Mass Senior Care at 617.558.0202 if you have any questions.
