Program Overview:

This seminar will thoroughly cover the OSHA blood-borne pathogen standard. It is intended to dispel myths and clarify the standard under OSHA federal law and will explore the law and the minimum requirements. During this seminar topics to be addressed include: documentation requirements, vaccines, injury logs, requirements for an effective exposure control plan, prevention and elimination of injuries, the cost of exposure, and how to report injury and post exposure follow up should an injury or exposure occur. We will explore methods to remove hazards and Personal Protective Equipment, engineering controls, housekeeping and hazard communications/labeling requirements. In addition, the seminar will review the U.S. DOT Hazardous Materials Regulations (49 CFR) which applies to all hazmat shipments that leave a facility.

Participants will work in groups to develop an exposure plan and policy to take back to their facilities and be able to write an effective exposure plan, train employees, and identify opportunities for improvement, and depend less on third party consultants for OSHA compliance.
