Seminar Description:
This program is designed to give providers the most useful information and resources to succeed amid the current climate. New requirements, training competency, infection prevention, trauma informed care and QAPI are just a few of the changes that will impact providers with the November 28, 2019 implementation of Phase 3 of the Requirements of Participation.
Areas that will be covered during this full-day program include:
- Discussion regarding the development of an Infection Prevention Plan, as well as the designation of an Infection Prevention Control Officer.
- Development of a trauma-informed care response on three levels: the residents, the staff and the organization.
- A Person-Centered Approach to QAPI.
- A Holistic Approach to Dementia Care will provide facilities with an eight-step change package including practices that can guide facilities in decreasing the off-label use of antipsychotic drugs and ideas for improving dementia care.
Objectives:
1.Identify the challenges and opportunities for success within the current climate.
2.Evaluate our current practices against the best practices offered during each segment.
3.Develop an action plan that can be implemented over the next three months based on the learning attained during this event.

CEUs:
6.0 CEUs will be awarded for nurses and nursing home administrators. The Massachusetts Senior Care Association has qualified for “deemed status #NH-09015-007” from the Board of Registration of Nursing Home Administrators for Administrators. This program also meets continuing education requirements for Nurses in Massachusetts. All paid registrants will receive a certificate of attendance.

Mass Senior Care must be notified in writing no later than 48 hours prior to the start of the seminar for a credit of equal amount to be issued to your Mass Senior Care account. No refunds will be given. “No Show” attendees will be billed at the full registration fee. Cancellations should be emailed to info@maseniorcare.org.
